CYX-4 Magnetic Liquid-Level Indicator For Steam Drum Boiler

Currently most of the high/extra high pressure boilers in the power plants are fitted with the quartz glass level indicators, such as transparent, reflex or bi-color glass level indicators. As a kind of on site level indicators, quartz glass type is undesirable since it is prone to leakage and easy to get dirty. Consideration should also be taken to its large error during normal operation. Furthermore, high cost and extensive maintenance are needed for this type of level indicator. As a result, on site level indicator for boiler drum has always been a perplexing problem for safe operation in power plants.

　　We have been engaged in research and development of magnetic type level indicator for steam drum boiler used in power plants since 1996. Lots of experiments and tests with different structures and materials have been conducted in order to solve the technical problems, such as water pressure and high temperature arising from high pressure or extra-high pressure in steam drum boilers, as well as to obtain a light duty design with low density and high pressure loaded magnetic float. Ultimately, a magnetic level indicator coded CYX-4 with new style alloy material as well as special structure and processing methods was successfully developed. which is applicable to various kind of drum boilers with the specification of pressure 12-21MPa and temperature lower than 390℃. Since the launch in 1997, our CYX-4 magnetic level indicator is popularly used in various kinds of machine sets with throughput ranging from 50MW to 600MW.

CYX-4 magnetic level indicator is accurate in performance, small in varying condition error. Safe in operation, easy in servicing, low in costs. It also has a more clear display interface which is convenient for industrial TV monitoring. Furthermore, it can be equipped with CYB1-F Remote level transmitter. These apparatus can be used for DCS reformation in power plants and for drum boiler liquid level signal input to the control system.

Since the lunch of the CYX-4 magnetic level indicator, many power plants have already upgraded its boiler drum indicator from quartz glass indicator to our CYX-4 magnetic level indicator; Up to the end of 2005, over 80 power plants have already been operating with the CYX-4 magnetic level indicator. The indicator is clearly more accurate, safe and cost effective than the quartz glass indicators.
